Tough Hope in action

In Fall 2021, Shenendehowa Central School District showed Tough Hope to over 600 students. Tough Hope is not a textbook. It's a comprehensive approach that gets students to open up to their classmates and counselors because it offers them unique personalities to identify with.

Student Feedback

“After watching the video when we gathered in a circle, my classmates shared something really difficult in their lives, I think the video, support of classmates and teachers, and the knowledge that [you're] not alone, made people less afraid to share their story.”

"I feel it can help people who need are struggling know that the are not alone, and help people who aren't struggling better understand the difficulty."

“I thought it was crazy that one of the girls in the documentary played volleyball in the same gym that I've played in. Seeing that made me realize that this can happen to anyone really, so it makes me more aware of how others behave.”
